The Demon Queen

Hello everyone.

this is a vector work i did of aldora based in a scan from queen's blade artbook, just for practice coloring, but after i colored her with my own style i decided to make a nice background for her, to use as a wall for my PsP xD

At first I had something RPG-ish in mind, the theme was going to be a tall clock tower set by a beautiful ocean, floating pieces of land circling the clock with the girl standing on one ready to do her summoning.... but then I thought WTF... she's the Demon Queen, this doesn't suit at all. I need to do something badass (she's my favourite character in Queens' Blade game).
I was inspired by the old Anime's such as DBZ, Slayers, Saint Seiya and the Tales of Destiny games, with the way they always had those awesome FX drawing by hand. (floating rocks, smoke, energy, summons,etc)
I used FMA and slayers as a reference for Aldoras' summoning, I remember watching it as a kid and loving the scenes where they are charging the energy for spells and dust and smoke and little rocks are all flying around showing you movement. I wanted to make an action scene full of movement, like a final fight with the big boss character in an RPG game, one that uses Super skills and transformations.
Aldora is like that.

Because she is Queen of the Demons, I wanted the alternate dimension to have elements that reflected that, the red sky, the hell like ground, the chains and ofcourse Magic. trying to show a Saint seiya type skill (that ones who affect all the background, like the one from thanatos in lost canvas or gemini in the original SS xD)
I started with drawing the floor, I wanted to show that she is using a lot of power in casting this spell. Which is why she's on this floating bit of floor which is disintegrating all around her.
I need to think of a name for Aldora's Skill but basically Queens' Blade is about fights right!? (forget all bout the fan service for 1 sec) and imagine that this is a 1 on 1 match like in a fighting game.
I also added the clocks as an element to show that the spells related to the control of time (soon the noob girls who are getting ready to fight her are going to be Pwned xP)
I went through a lot of different sketches before deciding on how the backgroundl looks now.
